Weight-loss Wednesday and a favorite things giveaway!

I have what you would call a bit of a weight problem. I am overweight and therefore unhappy with my weight. I hate all the clothes in my closet and it's not so much that they are ugly but that I hate the way I look in them. In life, we will be faced with things we can change and with things we cannot. This is something I can change. Diabetes runs in both sides of my family therefore putting me at risk. I am hoping to get a full time teaching job soon and I need to build up my immune system and just be healthy in general. I do not want to get a cold the first week of school. I know this is a teaching blog but I named it "The Teacher Diaries" with the intention of sharing not only about my classroom life but my life in general. 
I decided that Wednesdays will be my weigh-in/check-in day. Knowing I have to post will keep me accountable. I created a new board on Pinterest where I will pin books, exercises, recipes and supplements I use.

There is only one pin because I JUST created it. lol 
 I have a Health and Fitness board but it is just 300+ random pins. The new board will help me organize them.

Moving on, I was watching Ellen as I was writing this and bawling my eyes out. She just gave a car to a family in need. I ♥ her. She is a wonderful human being.

  2. I feel ya! I gained 20 pounds when we moved 3 1/2 years ago. I did NOT want to move, so the sad pounds creeped on. I downloaded the app My Fitness Pal, and it helped me get back on track. It's taken me six months, but I've lost 14 pounds. The one good thing about losing gradually is that I'm learning how to keep it off and not just do something crazy to lose weight quickly and then gain it all right back. Good luck!!!!!

  3. Good luck with your new endeavor! I love the idea of Weigh-In Wednesday. I've gained many unwanted pounds since fracturing my foot last year. :( Hopefully we can all encourage each other to keep with it!!!

  4. I love the idea of keeping yourself on track with Weight Loss Wednesday. I just want to throw this out there, it might or might not be something you want to look into. i am a kindergarten teacher, but as we all know that doesn't pay all the bills. I am also a promoter with Visalus! Visalus is a company that promotes health, fitness, and weight loss. You can join as a customer or you can join as a promoter and get paid to get yourself healthy and help others get healthy too!

    Visalus shakes are meal replacements. The shake mix can be mixed with skim milk, water, almond milk, or any juice. And you can make pretty much any flavor you want I have a sheet with over 100 different recipes. All you mostly have to add it dry pudding mix and fruits. I am including a link to my website where you can learn more about them. For great results, replace 2 shakes a day and take the Vi-Slim which is a metabolism booster pill. It alone helps lose 125 calories just by taking the pill. Many report losing 5-7 pounds the first week. It does take will power, but it is very easy to do.
