It's 'currently' my birthday month!

Where did the summer go? 

 I am sure you are all asking yourselves the same thing.

I know it's been a month since I last blogged but I've been Instagram-ing! I don't have internet at home right now and it's just oh so easy to post pictures, I'll try to get back into the groove again soon. For now make sure you're following me on Instagram. I post almost daily.

Guess what?

I have some exciting news! 

I got a job! I'll be teaching 4th grade this year! (Pending board approval) 

These past few weeks were some very tough weeks. If you've been reading my sporadic posts, you know I wanted to move to San Antonio and teach there. I applied at a few districts and nothing happened. I realized that all my were prayers were

"I want to live ______." 

"I want to teach ______ grade.

"I want to work in _____ district." 

I wasn't asking God what He wanted. I say I want His will for my life but I don't want to let go. 

So I applied here. I told God if this is where He wants me then I'll get a job here. Long story short, I turned in my application on a Tuesday, got a call for an interview on Wednesday, had interview on Friday and by Monday, all my references had been called. 

My first teacher interview ever and I got the job.

A big thank you to everyone who shared tips and advice on Instagram. Y'all eased my nerves and were of great help! 

Now onto currently...

It's August and it's my birthday month! Whoo!

I want nothing more but to be a blessing in the lives of the students who will be in my classroom.  I believe God wants me here and at that school for a reason. 

So I'm letting go...

NEEDING: 

My room is a blank canvas right now.  And I'm so excited!  I'm allowed to cover the entire walls, top to bottom! :D

Currently! OMG, it's July!

My goodness! Where did June go?! This summer is going by WAY too fast! 

But a new month means a new currently and I am excited to link up once again with Farley!

Loving:

 I'm tutoring at the Eden Learning Center. I have two sessions so I only work form 1-3pm. I get to sleep. I have 2 kiddos working on Math who will start 3rd grade in the Fall and 3 kiddos working on Reading. One is starting 3rd grade, the other two are starting 5th grade. I am grateful not only that I am making some money during the summer but that I am able to help these struggling kiddos. 

Thinking:

Wanting:

 I posted a picture on Instagram but I'm sure most of you don't know. Last Monday while I was at work, someone backed into my car (I drive a Plymouth Breeze) with a truck. 

 Something like this.

 It even has extended mirrors and they still didn't see my car?!

Not only did they back into my car and damage my trunk, they just left.

The only reason I know who did it was because some girls in the office next door, heard the impact and rushed to the window to see. They took a picture of the truck and wrote down their license plate number. Long story short, I filed a police report and they found who did it. Turns out the driver did not have a license but truck is insured. So right now I am just waiting for it to be resolved. I spoke to someone on Friday and they said it's under investigation. Both ladies I have spoken to so far are appalled that someone would hit and run. Unfortunately, that is the norm here.

I believe God has a purpose for everything so I am trusting this will work out for good.

Needing:

I don't look like Cousin It or anything but I need a haircut. I'm thinking I want to change up my color a bit but I am still not sure. I also need to clean. Ugh. I REALLY don't want to. And exercise. I REALLY don't want to but I need to. I've gained weight and I am not happy about it. Since it's SO hot here (It was 107 on Saturday) my only option is 6am. 

Maybe some new kicks will get me going. Aren't these gorgeous?! LOVE the colors! 

 Tips, tricks or hints:

  Not really a tip, trick or hint but it's what's in my heart right now. 

You are whoever you want to be, you just have to decide to be it.

It's 'Currently' time!

It's June! 

Boy, is this year flying by! I've got a day and a half left with my kiddos and I am SO BUMMED. I may be the only teacher in the history of the world that does not want the school year to end. I started as a permanent sub last Monday and school ends on Wednesday. And it's not even a full Wednesday. I am going to miss all my 5th grade kiddos. What's worse is that I won't be seeing them next year. The school where I'm subbing has two openings. One in 5th and one in 6th. My certification is only up to 4th grade. Because I am beyond ready for my own classroom, I will not be subbing anymore. This is my year, y'all. So I created a FB page called Miss Pacheco's Favorite Bunch, where we'll be able to keep in touch. Even though these are 5th graders, we all know they are on FB. They badger me constantly wanting to know if I have an account. Since I don't want them on personal account, I thought, "Why not a page?" 

I'll let you know how it goes.

And speaking of nails, check out my newest creation. I'd seen glittery clothespins on Pinterest and thought, "I can do that!" BUT I wanted the glitter and no mess. The other day as I was looking through my nail polishes trying to decide on a color I got an idea!

2-3 coats of nail polish + 2 coats of glitter + 1 coat of  a clear top coat = Fabulousness!
No mess and the nail poilsh brush is the perfect size! 

I LOVE how they turned out!
I made about 70 of them, now all I have to do is glue a thumb tack to the back and they'll be ready to display student work!

Dove's Dry Shampoo

When I don't wash my hair everyday, the first thing to get nasty are my bangs. Nothing can ruin my day more than yucky bangs. But yucky bangs no more thanks to Dove's dry shampoo! And it smells uh-mazing! 
I highly recommend it. :)

I have to tell you about Aquage because this stuff is AMAZING! I have thin hair and when I wear it straight (I have wavy hair) it just falls flat. Yuck! But not with Aquage! It gives my hair serious volume. No other product has done this for my hair. It's expensive but worth every penny!

The 5th graders I tutor will take the STAAR test tomorrow. I wanted to give them a little treat and encourage them to do their best. They were a hit! They're nervous and this calmed their nerves a bit. One group even started calling me 'Miss Smartie Pants'! Ha! You can read about them here.

 THINKING:

My BFF, Lucy, is getting her gallbladder removed as I write this. I'm not worried, I know she's in God's hands and He's got this. I'm just waiting to hear from her how it went.

WANTING:

I am a bit obsessed with dinosaurs! I've seen this move 465, 867 times and I cannot wait to see it in 3D! It'll be the first movie I see in 3D! Sad, I know. :)

NEEDING: 

I need a trim but I don't want to do it myself or I'll end up with bangs like this...

ADVICE: 

I haven't been blogging or selling for very long so I don't feel like I have much advice to offer as I am still learning. I spent months visiting blogs, grabbing freebies here and there. I thought about starting a blog of my own and selling on TpT but I was plagued with every beginner's questions: Will anyone read? Will anyone buy? I can now answer YES! You never know how a simple activity or product will bless someone or 20 little someones. So if you're thinking about starting a blog or selling on TpT, my advice (and Nike's) is 

Just Do It!

There's a wonderful community of educators that are more than happy to help.

Mrs. Stanford from Mrs. Stanford's Class is a perfect example. She is having a blogging 101 tutorial series right now!

March Currently!

I'm back! Just in time for March's currently.  I was oh so sad that I had to miss February's.

'Nashville' is my new favorite show! Love the music and drama! Anyone else loving 'Nashville' right now?

I finally got a new computer. As you can see from my lack of posts, my desktop gave out and died. I am trying to get used to Windows 8. When I was researching laptops, many of the reviews complained about Windows 8. I think people just didn't give it a chance. Like anything new, it takes getting used to.

Spring Break is a week away! Whoo! Even though I will not be flying off to some exotic destination, I am looking forward to the break. I plan to implement my revamped exercise plan (Just bought Jillian Michaels' "Killer Buns and Thighs") and catch up on blog and TpT stuff. I also need to add cleaning to my never ending to do list. That's all I'll mention, don't want to bore you with my long list. I'm sure you have a never ending list of your own. Spring Break should last at least 2 weeks. Can I get an amen?

I love the 'like, love, hate' section of this currently!  All my choices had to start with the letter B.

LIKE - Bob Harper. My friend Art and I are a little obsessed with The Biggest Loser this season. We do nothing else from 7-9pm on Mondays but exchange iMessages during the show. We cheer on the contestants and sit at the edge of our seats during the weigh-ins. We're crazy, I know. Bob is my favorite trainer. I know I've mentioned my love for him on my weight loss posts. But I really do like him. A LOT.

LOVE - No, I am not in love with One Direction. Only one boy band will forever hold my heart and they are the Backstreet Boys. My 'love' is "Nashville' related. You see, on the show there is a little (He's not really little)  British boy named Sam Palladio who plays Gunnar. And I LOVE him! Love, love, love.

 (Hmm, maybe I should have typed British boy as in one...Oh, well!)

HATE -  Who doesn't hate belly fat? And butt fat? Gross. If some of my fat accumulated on my boobs, I would not mind one bit. Ha!

FRIENDS is my all-time favorite show. I've seen it many times yet I still get teary-eyed when Ross and Rachel break up. 

Loving:  
I got this amazing microplush blanket for Christmas. It's huge and I love that I can wrap myself in it! I am also loving this sweet candy dispenser I won in Primary Possibilities' Sweet Sensations giveaway. I can't wait to fill it with all sorts of goodies! Thanks, ladies!

 

Thinking:  
As I mentioned before I am going to start tutoring 5th graders and will work Monday-Wednesday. When I was only subbing I wouldn't work everyday so I slept in on my days off. Not anymore! It's not like I slept till noon, I just wouldn't get up at 6am. Students go back Jan.7 and I believe I start Jan 8. I still have time. Plus I need to work on my fitness!


Wanting:  
New year, new 'do! I've had bangs like this before but I'm also really liking her hair color. What do y'all think? 

Isn't her body insane?!  Forget wanting her hair, can I just BE Jessica Biel?


Needing: 
 I am not saying this and have a closet full of clothes. I really do need new outfits. Just some basic pieces, I'm pretty good and mixing it up. :)

 It's the first day of the month! You know what that means! Farley's Currently Linky!

 Listening: I ♥ Michael Bublé. Like for real. When I saw him live 2 years ago, I nearly died. Ok, I didn't. But you know what I mean. :) He has an awesome Christmas album titled, Christmas. Check it out!

Loving: Everywhere I go, there are Christmas decorations. I love it. I'm putting up my mini tree tonight.

Thinking: I've been praying for God to make some changes in my life and I've decided that I am going to step out in faith and go where He needs me to go. To be honest, I was scared. Scared of moving to a new city, starting a new job (my first teaching job!) but I know God is with me and I can do all things, right? Plus, He has blessed me with all you fabulous bloggers! So 2013, here I come!

Wanting: I think I'm listing the same want as last month. Well, if mother nature would send sweet, cold fronts more often, I might be able to change it. It's 71 degrees as I type this.

Needing: My computer is messed up. I saved all the goodies (freebies, fonts, and clip art, who cares about other docs! J/k) in case it crashes. Right now I am able to use the internet by starting it in safe mode BUT I cannot use Powerpoint, listen to anything or view pictures. So I need a new one.

RAK: The librarians at the Pubic Children's Library are just the sweetest! Whenever I go, they go out of their way to help. Even though they have faulty wiring that is constantly messing up their computers, they make sure I get everything I need. And for that I am grateful. I want to sweeten their day with a delicious treat.
