Welcome to The Teacher Diaries!

I cannot tell you how inspired I am by all the wonderful teaching blogs I've found.  I mean, wow!  So much creativity and generosity!  After a few months of stalking visiting blogs, I decided to start my own!  Welcome to The Teacher Diaries!   My name is Brenda (you can call me Bren) :)  I am a 20-something year old educator.  I have a B.A. in Elementary Bilingual Education and an M.Ed in Reading. In the words of Buddy, the elf, "I love Reading! Reading's my favorite!"  I don't have my own classroom yet.  I cannot tell you how anxious, excited, and ready I am to get in there.  I've known I wanted to be a teacher since I was 12 years old.  I've been a Bible school teacher, a substitute teacher, and a tutor.  I am currently looking for a full-time job as an Elementary school teacher and I trust God has the perfect school for me.  In the mean time I am tutoring and now blogging!

Through this blog I hope to share lots of ideas, activities, lessons, and printables with you.  I also have a TpT store in the works.  I'll let you know as soon as it is up and running.  My blog is a work in progress as I'm still figuring all this out.  A BIG thank you to Mrs. Lindsey over at Teacher Blogging Basics.  Not only is she helping new bloggers, she also offers TpT help.  So if you are new to blogging and/or have opened up a TpT store, check out her blog.  She has great how tos.  I made my own blog button, which you are free to grab if you like, using one of her detailed how tos.  And I love it!

Before I go, I want to introduce you to my kitty, Paisley.  He's a year old, lazy, and fat.  And yes, I totally named him after Brad Paisley. :D

Til next time,
Bren

  2. Hi Bren,

Thank you for following my blog and entering my giveaway (us newbies have to stick together). Your blog is adorable! You mentioned in your comment on my blog that you still didn't know how to link your blog...I just learned yesterday myself so I thought I'd try to help. Go to this site HTML Codes Site
and it will give you the html code for linking your blog plus a lot more. I tried to do it for you so you would just have to copy and paste but it keeps linking the code instead of giving you the correct way to do it. If you still need help, feel free to message me and I'd be glad to help. Have a great Sunday!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Stephanie! And I greatly appreciate your help. I now have a linking code for my blog. :) Now I don't know if it's something I'm doing or the issue is with blogger but I have tried countless times to change the link colors, especially the hover link and nothing happens. When I go in to change it, the colors that I want are set but the others still show up on my blog. I don't know what to do.

  3. Hey Bren!

I'm sure you will find the right job for your very soon! God works in mysterious ways! :) Anyway, I stopped by to let you know that I boo'd you. Check out my post and check it out. You can also pick something out from my TPT store (my treat!). If it's something that my fiancee made, it might take me a little longer to get it to you because it will be on his computer, but I will get it to you asap! Keep it up :) I'm already addicted!
